Mirena coil strings? please answer confused?

ok so ive had the mirena coil since 3wks now and just a couple of days i stopped bleeding and had intercourse with my partner and i asked if he could feel the strings which he said he couldnt..which is great..but i have an appointment after 3wks for the 6wks checkup and i wamted to know that should i leave the strings long as my partner cant feel them or shall i ask the nurse to cut them? as many people tend to get them cut on thier 6wks checkup so should i do the same or just stick with how its now? also do u think they have wrappoed around my cervix thats why my partner couldnt feel them? thanks
