Pediped or Stride Rite for arch support on my 16 month old?
Flat feet are common until the third or fourth year of life, where the arch of the foot starts to take form. Now, in order to stimulate your daughter's feet and promote the development of her arches, have her walk barefoot on grass or sand as often as possible. Also, picking up small objects off the ground with her toes helps. Last, but not least, ask her to alternate walking on her tip toes and heels when she is barefoot indoors. One day on her tip toes, and the next on her heels. Having her do these simple exercises will ensure her flat feet will correct themselves within months, which will also correct her gait.
