What type of vet care do horses need?

I have already found out the prices for teeth floating, but I want to know about shots, checkups, and other stuff. I don't know anything about vet care for horses so what are the basic things? How often does the vet need to come out? Do they need shots? When do they need shots? Will horse medical insurance help? How can I get it? How much does it cost? These are the things I would appreciate you horse owners to answer for one horse please!!! Thanks!!!!!
