Doctors and belly button piercings?

I know even if your 18 your parents still have the right to be with you in the doctors appointment. I say if you truly don't want them to know wait until after the appointment. Because you never know what will happen with the doctor or the piercing. The only reason I say this is because I got mine done and right away it got infected and it was not a pretty site. So I had to take it out. So I do say wait until after the appointment.
