Dropped ipod touch into water and now not responding to touch, HELP!?

Three days ago I was stupid enough to drop my ipod touch into a paddling pool of around 15 cm of water. I quickly got it out nd it was only submerged for around 1-2 seconds, i then took it out and it worked fine but soon the screen went very dark and now it has lost all functions in its touch screen, the home button and off button still work and the time seems to be changing but it will not unlock. It will also not let me play music even when controlled by the remote on the earphones. I have tryed drying it with a hairdryer but it just seems to get extremely hot and I don't know how long I should be doing this for, I've heard that it should be put in the oven but not sure for how long? I have tryed rice but only for a few hours then got frustrated that it hadn't worked, will it be worth trying again? Any suggestions will be very helpful, thanks!
